Welcome to this virtual world

“Cameron is my original family name which I claimed when my father passed away. This name connects me to my ancestors who farmed the land of Aotearoa - New Zealand. They were pioneers. Carrying this name reminds me to stay grounded, aim to evolve, have FUN with life and keep things simple. Tukapua is my married Maori name. I am honoured to carry this link to the indigenous people of our land.  Tu means to "to stand" Kapua is "the clouds".  Living between the worlds of nature and spirit feels natural to me. Learning to live a grounded spiritual life is my personal and professional quest. My lifelong teacher Angles Arrien calls this “Walking the mystical path with practical feet”

Professional History

Cameron exploration into evolving our full potentials began in 1983, when a chance encounter at a gathering introduced her to a lifetime study of Chinese medicine. Alongside her studies she has also been practicing meditation, living The Four Fold Way (by Angeles Arrien - cross cultural anthropologist ) practicing Yoga, Qigong and light hearted living ! In 1999 she opened the NZ Qualifications registered Christchurch College of Holistic Healing in New Zealand - offering career training programs in Acupuncture. Assisting Shifting Gears - Old World to New

After 33 years of individual consults, leading retreats in China, Bali, Australia and New Zealand, and delivering practitioner level training, Cameron’s is now focussing on introducing ancient wisdom teaching to the general public.

Cameron is a leading light in the field of wellbeing opening up Heartfelt conversations about how to navigate our fast changing world. Recently joined by Qigong teacher - Lee Cooper- together they are offering Wellbeing events called “Head Heart & Roots” for the general public and business people of New Zealand. Meridian Yoga

Launching in March 2020, Cameron will be bringing her lifetime discoveries of Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga, Qigong and Wellbeing into one program called “Meridian Yoga” - see teacher training page for details. This program is highly recommended for teachers, therapists, counsellors, leaders and others interested in understanding how to balance the energy body of ourselves and others. The essence of Yoga is connection and the meridians are the connecting systems of our physical and non-physical lives. In this programme we explore all the levels of those connections; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

 
Drawing from a rich background of clinical acupuncture practice, committed Yoga practice and personal development training, Cameron Tukapua’s presentations are uniquely original. She invites her students to both understand and embrace their humanity while aspiring to a higher insight. Cameron brings a lightness of heart to her work, infusing her talks and seminars with humor, while ingeniously offering a razor-sharp perspective that encourages participants to recommit to their own personal vision

The ABC of Wellbeing

Well-being education is generally missing in mainstream education. We ‘drive around’ in the most sophisticated body-mind vehicle and yet most people have never had a lesson on how the mind-body and Heart work in unison, or where our day to day energy comes from. Learning the basics of how the body works as an interconnected system and how to see thConnection to ourselves and each other, and learning from life’s challenges and then sharing what helps us, empowers many. Our Head, Heart and Roots well-being programs introduce the abc of Mind-Body health.

Reaching out through grassroots communities, we aim to encourage Heart to Heart connection and simultaneously deliver a thinking upgrade valuable for this time. Anxiety and depression visible in the world today indicate a deeper collective level problem. Many people are questioning. “Whats really going on here ?” ” I don’t understand?” Anxiety and a quest for meaning are closely related, and fresh solutions to this collective health crisis are most needed. We don’t always know WHERE we are going anymore as things shift so quickly in todays world. We believe a thinking upgrade on HOW to travel by listening to the Heart, staying open, paying attention to what we know deep down, and trusting ‘step by step’ walking, can help.

MODERN SCIENCE & ANCIENT WISDOM agree

Science can now evidence what the ancients have always known - we are all connected. Quantum science teaches us that we make life happen with our thoughts, emotions and responses to life. Life is interactive and yet few people know the rules of HOW TO LIVE with this awareness. Chinese medicine has a 2200 year old evidence based medical history of well being preventative health care. This ancient medicine has never separated the mind from the body. In this tradition we are taught to care for our wellbeing through conscious intent and mindful choices. This rich medical tradition offers ancient world views which enable us to see how everything is connected. Using this knowledge and following well-being practices can powerfully transform our lives.

Opening Up Book

Opening Up is a story about how to create Heart based connections with ourselves and others. It explains how "life is energy" and offers everyday language for understanding how the natural world around us is mirrored by the functions and movements of energy within us. 

Opening Up encourages healing conversation about how to bring our true self forward in life. The story was originally inspired by the Christchurch earthquakes and the collective Heart opening that happened in response to that time. Many of us witnessed how people from all traditions instinctively respond from the Heart when life is threatened. What if we chose to live that way all the time ? Imagine if many of us were deeply connected to our original nature which is open, lighthearted and free ? What a different world.
