Retreat: LIVING IN YOUR ELEMENT

5 Nights - 5 day Retreat - This retreat starts Thursdays at 4pm and ends Tuesdays at midday. You can select dates to suit you between June 28 to October 2. VENUE DETAILS www.whyretreat.com

This retreat combines Kum Nye-Tibetan Yoga with outdoor nature study for us to have a direct experience of how we resonate with the five elements of nature.

Kum Nye Yoga comes from a fusion of Tibetan, Chinese and Ayurvedic medical systems. These yoga practices directly active Qi - energy flow in the meridians which nourish the internal organs of the body. Each day we explore the relationship between the elements of nature and the functions of the body mind and spirit. You will take home a series of practices which can help free-flow and harmonise each organ system enhancing overall functions of well-being. “The internal organs systems are the means by which the Five elements are made real in the body” JR Worlsey

Through the natural world we can learn a lot about the ways of human nature and our interconnected universe. Life is energy and and the same life principle that makes the grass grow and the sun shine is manifest in all living things. The same energy that circulates in our individual energy systems manifests as the five elements; Wood - the trees and flora that grow between heaven and earth, Fire - the sun and light that illuminates our world, Earth - the land which receives seeds and transforms them into the food we eat, Metal - the mountains, crystals, stone and solid materials that provide structures for our lives  Water - the oceans, rivers and streams which generate and sustain life for the long term.

The ways that the five elements express in nature are mirrored in our bodies, in our human nature's traits and behaviour. Each of the five ways express unique characteristics of the same shared life energy. Exploring these simple archetypal characters gives us easy access to the universal ways in which people think, act and feel. As we explore the natural strengths and challenges of the five character types, we discover ways to grow closer more genuine relationships with others and realise more of our human potential.

5 Nights - 5 day Retreat - This retreat is for 5 nights and 5 days, starting Thursdays ending Tuesdays. You can select dates to suit you between June 28 to October 2. Venue details www.whyretreat.com

WHERE DO WE COME FROM ? WHERE ARE WE NOW ? WHERE ARE WE GOING? Nourishing our inner nature is perfectly supported by a retreat in Mother nature and across 5 days we explore these BIG LIFE questions.. To bring this wisdom  into embodied knowing we blend active and restorative Yoga with traditional wisdom teachings for a whole of life review. We explore where we have come from in the context of Chinese medical teachings. Understanding the influences of our inheritance gives us the keys to unlock our family patterns and bone deep coding. We introduce ways and practices to help us embrace our natural gifts, consciously manage our challenges and show up in our true Self. On this retreat you will get to know the influence of your constitutional patterns and how to manage you well-being through conscious rest and intensive nourishment.

WHY ? The Nourishing Roots teachings and practices are designed to help reset our natural capacity to find balance and rejuvenate at deep levels by increasing our ability to relax. They help us to access the Power of Yin - our feminine power which supports us to let go, yield, open and soften as a path to healing. Yin represents the physical substances of our life eg the bones, blood and body fluid relative to Yang which represents the energetic activities of the body eg movement, thinking and the functional power of the organs. When Yin is not well nourished, the relative excess of Yang makes us feel over stimulated and rest-less !! Patterns such as anxiety, irritability, insomnia, nervousness, over-heating, excessive mental activity all can result from a weakness of Yin energy. One solution is to simply nourish our Yin - in other words - nourish our roots !

WHO FOR ? This retreat is recommended for people who want to learn to deeply relax and for those who have been excessively stressed and/or cut off from their body by their over active busy lives and minds ! For those with extreme tension it is recommended that people support the retreat process with individual healing sessions to help clear and resolve deeply embodied stress-response patterning. For people in transition this retreat maps 7 steps to realignment.

Seven Steps

In the Nourishing Our Roots journey we explore seven steps: Step 1 We look at Life as a journey emerging from the roots of our Source essence, Step 2 We look at how source essence is embodied in the deep Reservoirs, Step 3 we explore how to enliven our lives through activating Free-Flow, Step 4 We tune into how to build strength through full bodied Presence, Step 5 We look at ways to be grounded in the Earth Step 6 We examine how to nourish and Mother ourselves and our homes, Step 7 We contemplate how to Open Up let go to let come to be partners of the Universe.

Nourishing Our Roots is a path to healing - about letting go to let come. You will be guided into the enjoyment of opening to deep rest and finding how strength that emerges with softening, yielding and surrendering as a way of being.

TESTIMONIAL from 'Power of Yin' participant - now newly named 'Nourishing Our Roots'

"I met Cameron back in July 2017 as I was in a one of those beautifully challenging times in life … mid-life working out what I want … kids, the current relationship I was in, family relationships, the job that was zapping me and general life questions that come up for us all!

I had been on a journey of focused self-discovery specifically in the last few years on so many levels – emotional, mental, spiritual. So I felt very grateful and blessed. Then a recommendation from a friend, to see Cameron helped me catapult even further on my journey on a quicker and clearer track. Cameron’s 1 on 1 sessions were very moving for me each time and they consisted of talking, remedies, acupunture, tarot readings and more talking! I also attended her Power of Yin retreat and the You Beautiful You retreat . Both were so powerful for me, but very particularly the Power of Yin. I learnt and experienced so much and even more once I left the retreat.

Cameron’s conversations, energy, vibrancy and wisdom not only helped me work out these questions (and I will continue to do so) but also the tools to stand up, speak up, create my story and connection with self, others and the universe.I will continue to reach out to Cameron for her wonderful personality, energy, wisdom and support as I continue on my never-ending learning and growing journey. I would certainly recommend you to do so to."

RETREAT - LEADING WITH HEART

RETREAT - LEADING WITH HEART

Listen to your Heart ... Follow your Heart ... Open your Heart

But how to do that when my head is so busy ?!

Touching all levels this 7 day retreat is perfect for leaders, healers, Yoga teachers, parents and others in helping professions. It offers practical instruction on how to balance the Heart and mind with body centred Yoga practices for aligning their circulatory flows. Instinctively most people recognise that an Aligned head and Heart is power in balance. Interestingly science now also evidences how the electro-magnetic (energy) field of the Heart is 60 X stronger than the brain. * Reference: Heart Math Institute

Drawing on a lifetime study of Chinese medicine, Yogic philosophies and the Four Fold Way - Cameron helps people recognise the language of the Heart and ways to engage our common points of unity to create genuine, connection to ourselves and others. The theoretical teachings are balanced with Tibetan Yoga practices which activate the free-flow functions of the internal organs to help reset the body’s natural harmonising functions. To restore and fill our reservoirs of energy we use Yoga Nidra to refresh the deep levels of our energy systems.

Cameron is a lifelong learner of cross-cultural anthropologist, Dr Angeles Arrien PhD, who developed the ‘Four Fold Way’ framework based on indigenous cultural wisdom. Indigenous cultures recognise that the Heart is the bridge between the worlds of the things we can see and touch and the invisible world of the subtle senses. In these cultures vulnerability is recognised as a sign of authenticity and as a healer, teacher and leader much of Cameron's work is helping people embrace and express all parts of themselves. ‘The Four Fold Way’ of being give us a clear lens for recognising the natural and contracted expressions of our authentic self.

Cameron’s personal re-frame of the 4 Fold Way teachings focus on how to develop ‘grounded presence’ and a ‘strong heart’. The Yoga practices which accompany these teachings help deepen our ability to feel and sense body sensation and develop conscious awareness of the power of our presence. In Tibetan Yoga we engage simple practices to open the connections between the head and Heart which can physically support speaking up. Learning how to ‘speak with unarmed truth’ and ‘open to not knowing’ is a Heart awakening path which can touch all levels of our lives.

Testimonial

I recently attended a workshop led by Cameron on The Four Fold Way and thoroughly enjoyed it, as well as finding it informative and full of aha moments as well as laughs! I have since found the Four Fold Way a powerful and useful archetypal model for so many aspects of my life. Thank you so much Cameron for introducing it to me!

THE POWER OF YIN - One day introduction for trained Yin Yoga teachers

Introduction for teachers of Yin Yoga - a path to share

The Power of Yin is an exploration of feminine power as it expresses through our inner life and energy. Like the subtle pull of the moon, Yin energy is receptive, magnetic and potent by its quality of being. In contrast, Yang, like the sun is an active, doing, outgoing masculine energy.

Yin power is a feminine power which is awakening across the world right now. As Yoga teachers we have the opportunity to directly encourage this movement through sharing restorative practices and teachings on how to find FLOW. Helping ourselves and others refresh our true energy helps gather the power we need to flow with our larger life possibilities. When the volume of Yin is strong in our bodies, like a river full of water, the propelling action of the current can more easily transform blocks on our path to nourish the unfolding of our destiny.

Revealing a life of purpose and meaning and showing up to what life is offering, is a day by day step by step journey - there is no magic door ! Through the teachings of Yoga we can assist others to find their centre and unfold life from the inside out.

TESTIMONIAL Drawing from a rich background of clinical acupuncture practice, committed Yoga practice and personal development training, Cameron Tukapua's presentations are uniquely original. She invites her students to both understand and embrace their humanity while aspiring to a higher insight.

Cameron brings a lightness of heart to her work, infusing her talks and seminars with humor, while ingeniously offering a razor-sharp perspective that encourages participants to recommit to their own personal vision.

Donna Farhi, International Yoga teacher trainer, and author of "Bringing Yoga to Life: The Everyday Practice of Enlightened Living”

Seven Steps

In the Power of Yin journey we introduce seven steps to help us engage feminine power coupled with specific Restorative practices.

Step 1 We look at Life as a journey emerging from the Source essence, step 2 embodied in the deep Reservoirs, step 3 enlivened by the power of Flow, step 4 revealed through the strength of Presence, step 5 grounded in the Earth step 6 nourished by how we Mother ourselves and hold sacred space at home, step 7 partnered by ‘Great Mystery’

You Beautiful You

Bringing to light our goodness, truth and beauty with a soft gaze at the shadow side of authentic Self.

Inspired by the Four Fold Ways of Angeles Arrien we explore 4 universal archetypes:

Grounded Presence: The Warrior

Strong Heart: The Healer

Unarmed Truth: The Visionary

Partnering Mystery: The Teacher

Looking at the balanced and under expressed patterning of these archetypes offer us a simple lens to engage the best of ourselves and others.
Shining light into the shadows helps reveal a view of the contracted Self which can help us embrace, understand & transform life negating habits.

Cameron is a lifelong learner of cross-cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien who passed away in 2014. Generally Indigenous cultures recognise vulnerability as a sign of strength, and as a healer much of Cameron's work is helping people embrace and express all parts of themselves. These four ways of being show us how to be authentic through the engagement of grounded presence, strong heart, unarmed truth and being open to ‘not knowing’.

When Angeles died Cameron had a dream it was time for her to step up as a teacher and leader  “At this stage of my career I’m passionate about supporting others to lead, heal, teach and share traditional wisdom on creating and maintaining authentic relationships with ourselves and others. My focus is to partner with others who can help bring these amazing teachings into the mainstream worlds of healthcare, business, education”.

Join our gathering and share with others in these archetypal journeys to explore where you stand, what strengthens you, how to tell the truth without blaming, while staying open to not knowing.

THE POWER OF YIN

The Power of Yin is an exploration of feminine power as it expresses through our inner life and energy. Like the subtle pull of the moon Yin energy is receptive, magnetic and potent by its quality of being. In contrast, Yang, like the sun is an active, doing, outgoing masculine energy.

Many of us do not have language for what we feel and sense inside, even though our instinctual wisdom is all the time attempting to guide us in our lives. In this session we introduce simple wisdom teachings with body centred guided meditation to explore what’s calling you forward right now.

Tapping into our embodied knowing supports us to take wise actions in the world, a natural outcome of balanced Yin and Yang.  Filling our Yin reservoirs through nourishing our collective potency as women, can help us restore our energy and gather the power we need to flow with our larger life possibilities. When the volume of Yin is strong, like a river full of water, the propelling action of the currentcan naturally transform blocks on our path to nourish the unfolding of our destiny.

Revealing a life of purpose and meaning and showing up to what life is offering, is a day by day step by step journey - there is no magic door ! Opening to the receptive power of Yin prepares us to welcome the inspiration of the unseen and call it into being.

In this Power of Yin session we introduce seven steps to help us engage feminine power. We look at Life as a journey emerging from the Source essence, embodied in the deep Reservoirs, enlivened by the power of Flow, revealed through the strength of Presence, grounded through how we Mother ourselves, held sacred in our Homes and partnered by the Great Mystery.

Power of Yin

  • Whangarei Heads Yoga Retreat (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This 7 day retreat touches all levels helping us anchor into our individual nature as a unique expression of ONE universal power. In Chinese medicine that ONE power is viewed as the two complementary energies of Yin and Yang. Yin power is like the Earth; substantial, grounded and contracted. It is a receptive, magnetic feminine energy relative to Yang which is masculine, active, stimulating, and outgoing

Opening and letting go

Opening to Yin power gives us access to our deep, hidden reservoirs of energy. Letting down and letting in offers us the direct experience of original source energy. On this retreat we awaken to Yin as the feminine, gathering, harmonising, cohesive power of life itself. Using restorative Yoga, meridian based breath and movement practices we activate the nurturing, grounding Mother energy helping to balance the blood and fluid production, regulation and circulation.

Who For ?

This retreat is designed for Yoga teachers, healers and others who want takeaway teachings and practices for empowering and healing themselves and others.

From the moment of conception your Qi directs the growth, development and evolution of your life. The energy of life itself flows through your body creating meridians/energy pathways as your personal link to the Qi of the whole universe. Aligning with the free-flow of universal qi  - harmonises all movement in your world; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

You will take home a clear understanding of how energy is produced, circulated, regulated and maintained in your body. During the training we use Traditional medical Yoga practices to re-establish energetic balance. You will also be introduced to how inherited, and/or conditioned emotional and mental patterning impacts the flow of energy in your life. We give you tools to help clear any inherited blocks and free yourself to be yourself.

This training is about personal empowerment and you will take home tools to transform inherited and conditioned patterns of being which may be blocking the expression of the real you. Your Open Heart ~ the Doorway to Love Melbourne

IN this workshop we explore the Yoga of relationships through a fusion of Tibetan Yoga, gentle touch and interactive sharing on the ways to open the doorway to love.

Every day in my clinical practice of Chinese medicine I hear stories of people struggling with relationships. It’s not surprising for in our mainstream education we have little or no education on how to create and sustain loving, healthy relationships.

Yoga is about connection and yet many yogis only feel connected when they are in the Yoga studio. In this day together we explore how to open to more loving relationship to ourselves, others, and life as an interactive energy system.

Most of us will recognise how at the Heart of us all is the deep longing to love and be loved. Love has many expressions and to love with our whole hearts it is useful to learn the simple language of love and how it is often trying to be revealed.

In this day we practice the physical opening of the Heart while observing and exploring the ways we all communicate through the subtle sensing of our Heart’s deep knowing.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

Leading With Heart - Queenstown

This retreat focuses on the archetypal framework of the Four Fold Way by Dr Angeles Arrien PHD (1940 - 2014)

The four fold way grew out of Angeles Arrien's research of perennial wisdom teachings i.e. what the ancients knew They are a synthesis of her lifetime studies of indigenous peoples and shared ways of being. In ancient cultures the awareness of a spiritual dimension is central to their worldview. This mystical perception of our world invites us to see life as a mystery, something to be revealed rather than solved. Living the mystery of life, we are not heading for an end point, rather we are engaging with the journey step by step.

In the FFW the way to access life as part of an interconnected energy system is to engage the awareness of each of the four archetypes. The four ways are: Showing Up and Choosing to be Present - the way of the Warrior. Paying attention to what has Heart and Meaning - the way of the Healer, Be Open, not Attached to Outcome - the way of the Teacher, and Tell the Truth without Blame or Judgment - the way of the Visionary.

Living the FFW we are encouraged to give our attention to the now moment, as this is where the power to create life anew exists. When we let go of focus on end points, we start to engage with the living energy current of life in the present - here is the power to co-create our lives, relationships and all experience. As we learn to focus the collective attention, by opening to the guidance of the mystery at work in our lives, we can facilitate a collective shaping of the future.

FREE FLOWING MERIDIANS - MELBOURNE

Heart centered living (1).png

Jing Luo (meridians) embody the fusion of heaven and earth as circulatory flows of energy infused in the blood, body tissues and fluids. These circulatory flows are formed as deep channels (Jing) and more superficial collaterals (luo) which enliven and connect all the body tissues and parts.

Being in flow with our lives is dependent on the free-flowing of these nourishing, self-balancing systems. When our body is relaxed and free-flowing with energy, the regulation of our emotions, thoughts and attitudes to life maintain a lightness of being. From this place we can adjust to the changes of life.

In this workshop we provide a simple view of the meridian system function and dysfunctions. We draw upon Chinese medical theory to understand the free flows and how disease patterns develop. Theory is integrated through the Tibetan Yoga practices to both experience and resolve blocks in energy movement.

Feedback: I started at the retreat as a wife, a mom, a family doctor and as the retreat unfolded, I shed those roles and just found myself and to be connected to myself was the most powerful gift I could have been given. ~ Marie Shieh

Free-Flow the Jing Luo

Professional development training - Practitioners with TCM knowledge only

NZ $130 - book via email: camerontukapua@gmail or TEXT 027 588-5886

In Chinese medicine health is defined as the ability to adapt to change. Flowing and transforming with our changes is the essence of a fulfilling life. Many people present in clinics with liver Qi stagnation and Kidney deficiencies. To access true qi first we must uplift and free flow the Jing Luo. Irregular lifestyles, poor diet, emotional stress and overwhelm by life’s happenings, are common in today’s fast changing world.

This workshop has two main ingredients. The first is “hands-on” and includes checking and clearing blocks to treatment and balancing left right meridian flows. We will use muscle testing, akabane testing and superficial needling to check and clear blocks to healing. The second ingredient introduces Kum Nye - Tibetan movement practices for opening connections between Zang Fu and Jing Luo.

Free-flowing the Jing Luo is central to general health and well-being for both ourselves as practitioners and the people we help. The workshop focus is on moving the energies to help clear and resolve stagnation in the channels and introduce simple practices for helping others help themselves.
