The intention of this gathering is to bring people together and introduce an education upgrade on mental wellbeing from holistic medical points of view. We include some simple neuroscience facts which evidence how the Heart energy is stronger than the brain. We explore how to view the relationship of the head - the logical thinking part of ourselves - and the Heart - our overall awareness. .

To bring the head and heart together, we come back to the anchor of the physical body - which roots us into present time awareness. To come into present time awareness we practice Qigong - body centred meditation practices which can help calm and settle the busy thinking mind. Qigong practices have been used for centuries to nurture lifelong wellbeing.

Mental health and spiritual wellbeing are closely related. When we understand more about the inner workings of our heads and Heart, it can help validate our inner world experiences. Language for our inner life is missing for most people, and yet ancient medical traditions offer simple ways of seeing how the body-mind exists as one system.

This inaugural Queenstown event is a new beginning that will ripple throughout New Zealand.  The aim is to bring people together to connect, learn and share while exploring where we stand in the world.

This will be an easy-to-participate-in 2.5 hour session.  There will be some light stretching, so it is best bring some loose casual clothes.  Largely this will be a facilitated discussion, led by Cameron.

THE POWER OF YIN

The Power of Yin is an exploration of feminine power as it expresses through our inner life and energy. Like the subtle pull of the moon Yin energy is receptive, magnetic and potent by its quality of being. In contrast, Yang, like the sun is an active, doing, outgoing masculine energy. 

Many of us do not have language for what we feel and sense inside, even though our instinctual wisdom is all the time attempting to guide us in our lives. In this session we introduce simple wisdom teachings with body centred guided meditation to explore what’s calling you forward right now.

Tapping into our embodied knowing supports us to take wise actions in the world, a natural outcome of balanced Yin and Yang.  Filling our Yin reservoirs through nourishing our collective potency as women, can help us restore our energy and gather the power we need to flow with our larger life possibilities. When the volume of Yin is strong, like a river full of water, the propelling action of the currentcan naturally transform blocks on our path to nourish the unfolding of our destiny.

This 7 day retreat touches all levels helping us anchor into our individual nature as a unique expression of ONE universal power. In Chinese medicine that ONE power is viewed as the two complementary energies of Yin and Yang. Yin power is like the Earth; substantial, grounded and contracted. It is a receptive, magnetic feminine energy relative to Yang which is masculine, active, stimulating, and outgoing

Opening and letting go

Opening to Yin power gives us access to our deep, hidden reservoirs of energy. Letting down and letting in offers us the direct experience of original source energy. On this retreat we awaken to Yin as the feminine, gathering, harmonising, cohesive power of life itself. Using restorative Yoga, meridian based breath and movement practices we activate the nurturing, grounding Mother energy helping to balance the blood and fluid production, regulation and circulation.

Leading With Heart - Queenstown

This retreat focuses on the archetypal framework of the Four Fold Way by Dr Angeles Arrien PHD (1940 - 2014)

The four fold way grew out of Angeles Arrien's research of perennial wisdom teachings i.e. what the ancients knew They are a synthesis of her lifetime studies of indigenous peoples and shared ways of being. In ancient cultures the awareness of a spiritual dimension is central to their worldview. This mystical perception of our world invites us to see life as a mystery, something to be revealed rather than solved. Living the mystery of life, we are not heading for an end point, rather we are engaging with the journey step by step. 

In the FFW the way to access life as part of an interconnected energy system is to engage the awareness of each of the four archetypes. The four ways are: Showing Up and Choosing to be Present - the way of the Warrior. Paying attention to what has Heart and Meaning - the way of the Healer, Be Open, not Attached to Outcome - the way of the Teacher, and Tell the Truth without Blame or Judgment - the way of the Visionary.

Living the FFW we are encouraged to give our attention to the now moment, as this is where the power to create life anew exists. When we let go of focus on end points, we start to engage with the living energy current of life in the present - here is the power to co-create our lives, relationships and all experience. As we learn to focus the collective attention, by opening to the guidance of the mystery at work in our lives, we can facilitate a collective shaping of the future.

FREE FLOWING MERIDIANS - MELBOURNE

Jing Luo (meridians) embody the fusion of heaven and earth as circulatory flows of energy infused in the blood, body tissues and fluids. These circulatory flows are formed as deep channels (Jing) and more superficial collaterals (luo) which enliven and connect all the body tissues and parts. 

Being in flow with our lives is dependent on the free-flowing of these nourishing, self-balancing systems. When our body is relaxed and free-flowing with energy, the regulation of our emotions, thoughts and attitudes to life maintain a lightness of being. From this place we can adjust to the changes of life.

In this workshop we provide a simple view of the meridian system function and dysfunctions. We draw upon Chinese medical theory to understand the free flows and how disease patterns develop. Theory is integrated through the Tibetan Yoga practices to both experience and resolve blocks in energy movement.

Free-Flow the Jing Luo

In Chinese medicine health is defined as the ability to adapt to change. Flowing and transforming with our changes is the essence of a fulfilling life. Many people present in clinics with liver Qi stagnation and Kidney deficiencies. To access true qi first we must uplift and free flow the Jing Luo. Irregular lifestyles, poor diet, emotional stress and overwhelm by life’s happenings, are common in today’s fast changing world. 

This workshop has two main ingredients. The first is “hands-on” and includes checking and clearing blocks to treatment and balancing left right meridian flows. We will use muscle testing, akabane testing and superficial needling to check and clear blocks to healing. The second ingredient introduces Kum Nye - Tibetan movement practices for opening connections between Zang Fu and Jing Luo.

Free-flowing the Jing Luo is central to general health and well-being for both ourselves as practitioners and the people we help. The workshop focus is on moving the energies to help clear and resolve stagnation in the channels and introduce simple practices for helping others help themselves.
